1945 the 17th Airborne Division was shipped home and deactivated

The front of the cap has a lovely metal RAD shovelhead logo

certainly after it was decommissioned and removed from the plane

It has been repainted but we are able to make out the original labels that read Registered

This is a very good condition original WWII Japanese Army type 98 tropical sun pith helmet. It still retains a wonderful form with internal bamboo wicker construction. Comes with original pentagonal bevo style cloth embroidered army star insignia to the front. Helmet has part of the original suspension system and original chinstrap. This example is well marked with original labels inside bearing Japanese kanji
